Meet Sara
Serious about mental health—just not about pretending life isn't weird.
It’s hard to get a real sense of someone from a few paragraphs on a screen, especially when every therapist starts with some version of “I provide a safe, supportive space…” So here’s the real version: I’m direct, grounded, and not afraid to challenge you, but I also bring warmth, humor, and humanity into the room. Therapy with me is an active process. We’ll delve into the details when needed, utilize fundamental evidence-based tools, and create a space where we can be honest about what is going on.

My Experience

No toxic positivity No vague affirmations Just real work

I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology in 2015 from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington. While there, I co-facilitated a peer-supported group for survivors of sexual abuse, which was both humbling and one of my first experiences with the kind of meaningful work I knew I wanted to keep doing.

After graduation, I moved back to Chicago and began working at Trilogy, a non-profit mental health center that serves individuals with severe mental illness. That experience solidified my decision to continue, both academically and professionally, and I received my Master's degree in Counseling Psychology in 2019 from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.

I completed my clinical internship at Mercy Home for Boys and Girls, a residential facility for high-risk youth, where no two days were the same and every day required patience, humor, and a steady supply of coffee. After graduating, I moved into an IOP substance abuse counseling role, focusing on the correlation between addiction and trauma, where I worked for two years before transitioning to private practice.
In 2025, I decided to start my own company, as I obviously enjoy a challenge.

Trauma work is a big part of my foundation, and it shapes how I approach therapy across the board. I also genuinely enjoy working with ADHD, self-esteem, grief, depression, anxiety, and OCD. If your brain feels loud or heavy, we'll probably get along.

Therapy with me is tailored to you, not a script. We'll use tools that align with your goals, move at a pace that makes sense, and stay transparent about what works and what doesn't.

For questions about the bread loaves (AKA my cats, not carbs), you're out of luck—there's no formal FAQ for them, just occasional cameos.
