What Is Talk Therapy
(Besides Just... Talking)?

Talk therapy (also called psychotherapy) is a space to explore and work through what’s going on in your life; whether that’s stress, intense emotions, patterns you’re tired of repeating, or things you’re struggling to understand about yourself. It's a space where you're not expected to have it all figured out. You talk, we explore, and over time, you build insight and tools to help you feel more in control and more like yourself.

The First Session (aka the Intake)
Your first session is designed to help you get to know each other. I’ll ask questions about what’s bringing you in, what your goals might be, and a bit about your background. You don’t need to prepare anything or have the “right words”, just show up as you are. It’s a chance for you to get a feel for what working together might be like, and for me to start understanding how I can help.

Sessions After That
Ongoing sessions are more flexible. Sometimes, we’ll focus on concrete tools; other times, we’ll slow down and process emotions or patterns that are emerging. Some sessions may feel like a deep dive, while others are more like checking in and noticing progress. There’s no one way therapy has to look; our work will evolve based on what you need most.

Have Insurance Questions?
If you’re wondering about insurance, payment, or how all of that works, head to the Q&A section. I’ve broken it all down there in plain language.
